How To Transfer Money & Buy Airtime With Your Phone On Your GtBank Account With *737#

Guaranty Trust Bank rolled out a service to make things easier for their customers. This service is called GTBank 737 and it allows  customers perform some basic tasks without having to visit the bank.


With Gtbank 737 , GTBank users are able to buy airtime , transfer money , check for pending issues with their account and also check their account balance , all with their smartphone!. Its a life saver!.
Before now , the only thing i used this service for was to purchase airtime.


I had never used it to transfer money , but everything changed last week. Here’s my story.



I have 2 bank accounts in Nigeria. One with GTBank , and the second with UBA.  GTBank  is my main account and i use it for all my transactions , while UBA is just a backup account and i barely use it for anything.



Last week monday , i had an issue with my GTBank ATM card , and couldn’t withdraw money with it. I took my issue to the bank , requested for a new atm card , and i was told it will be ready within 10 working days.



I was extremely low on cash and i desperately needed to withdraw , and since i couldn’t use my ATM card ,

 i decided to transfer some money from my GTBank account to my UBA. I used GTBank 737 service for the first time and boy! , it was fast and efficient. Here’s how i made the transaction without leaving my house / using the internet.


Before you proceed , please ensure that the phone number you want to use is the same with the one on GTBank’s database . Your phone number must be the same. That’s the only way you can use this service.


On your mobile phone , dial *737#. You see a list of services on offer. To transfer funds , type 4 in the text area provided and click on send

Next , You will be asked if you want to transfer funds to a GTBank user / Another bank user.



You will be asked to type in the account number of the person you want to transfer money to :


Next , Choose the Receipent’s Bank


Enter the last 5 digits on your Atm Card to confirm the transaction


Transaction successful!!


I got a credit alert on my UBA account less than 2 minutes after initiating the transfer.


Then You  Wait for a debit alert from GTBank , which confirms that your transaction is indeed successful. As you can see above , i was able to complete my transaction without using my ATM pin or TOKEN.
The only thing i do not like about GTBank 737 is that the transaction is not free. GTBank will charge you #105 for the successful transaction. Take a look at the screenshot below :

About Facebook, Google And Twitter Want US To transfer Control Of ICANN To Global Community

Years-long plan to transfer oversight of the nonprofit Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, is scheduled to occur on Oct. 1 unless Congress votes to block the handover. The California-based corporation operates the database for domain names such as .com and .net and their corresponding numeric addresses that allow computers to connect.


The U.S. Commerce Department has primary oversight of the internet’s management, largely because it was invented in the United States. Some Republican lawmakers are trying to block the handover to global stakeholders, which include businesses, tech experts and public interest advocates, saying it could stifle online freedom by giving voting rights to authoritarian governments.

Technology companies including Facebook, Google and Twitter are urging US Congress to support a plan for the U.S. government to cede control of the internet’s technical management to the global community, they said in a joint letter dated on Tuesday.

In the Sept. 13 letter, a copy of which had been reviewed by Reuters before it was sent, thetechnology companies said it was “imperative” that Congress does delay the transition.


“A global, interoperable and stable Internet is essential for our economic and national security, and we remain committed to completing the nearly twenty year transition to the multi stakeholder model that will best serve U.S. interests,” the letter said.



Other signatories include Amazon, Cloudflare, Yahoo and several technology trade organizations.
Former presidential hopeful Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who leads the opposition against the handover, will hold a congressional hearing on Wednesday to review the transition, which he has criticized as a “giveaway of our internet freedom.”


Tech companies, technical experts and academics have said the transition is overdue and necessary to keep the Internet open and globally oriented, and that the proposal includes safeguards against any potential abuse by any one country.

"He's only 28, so if he can stay fit he can come back to the top level. A hungry Bendtner can score goals against anybody.


"He's intelligent and he's honest. He knows that he has made some mistakes in his career but he has got the quality to get the career his talent deserves.

Wenger was also quick to praise the goalscoring impact that Xhaka - who has now netted twice in as many matches - has had on Arsenal's midfield, as well as lauding the performance of two-goal Perez.
"It was a tough game, our technical superiority made the difference," Wenger added. "We played with a good team dynamic and that's the way we wanted to play.



"It was tricky. I believe that the result shows a comfortable win but we had a difficult game and played like a real team.


"I was really pleased with Perez's effort. That's what I expect of him and I know that he has the quality.


"I honestly didn't know that Xhaka had that in his locker. But it's great for his confidence. The demands from our supporters are very high so I hope they see that they are both very good players."

News Police Arrest 12 Suspected IPOB Members In Enugu Read

 Police in Enugu, has arrested no fewer than 12 suspected members of the outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), the state command’s spokesman, Mr Ebere Amarizu, has said.


A statement signed by Amarizu and made available to newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday said that the suspects were arrested during their ‘sit-at-home’ campaign at the Ogbette Main Market in Enugu.


It stated that the suspects allegedly went into the market with a public address system and ordered the traders to observe a sit-at-home directive on Sept. 23.


“Suspects were arrested by our operatives, as the alleged announcement was being carried out and 21 handsets were recovered from them.


“Also recovered, include flags suspected to be that of the group with their insignia, public address systems, one wireless microphone,” the statement said.


The statement stated that the suspects would be arraigned in court after investigation.


Meanwhile, Amarizu said that the command had collaborated with other sister agencies to beef up security in parts of the state so as to forestall any breakdown of law and order.


“We advise the public not to allow themselves to be used under any guise to cause mischief, as anyone caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” Amarizu said.


The IPOB had earlier threatened to shut down economic and social activities in parts of the country on Sept. 23 to back up their demands from the Federal Government.


Some of their demands include the release of their leader, Mr Nnamdi Kanu and other members of the group in detention, who are facing trials in the law courts.

Breaking News Today: The Former Cape Verde President Monteiro Is Dead Read

The Former Cape Verde President António Manuel Mascarenhas Gomes Monteiro is dead.

Mr Monteiro died on Friday at the age of 72, VOA Radio confirmed.

Consequently, the candidates for the country’s October 2 presidential elections have suspended their campaigns to mourn his death.

Mr Monteiro died at his home in Praia city following a long illness.

He was the first democratically elected president of the archipelago in 1991 and was re-elected in 1996.


In 2001, Mr Monteiro left the country’s presidency and took up several UN and Francophone international roles.


A widow

Mr Monteiro was born in Ribeira da Barca at Santa Catarina on Santiago Island in February 16, 1944.
He graduated with a law degree from Belgium where he later served as a university lecturer.
Mr Monteiro is survived by a widow and three sons.

What US Company Gets Historic Nod To Send Lander To Moon

US startup company Moon Express said Wednesday it had received approval from the government to send an unmanned lander to the moon next year, in a first for private industry.


Until now, only the governments of the United States, the Soviet Union and China have sent spacecraft to the moon.


Commercial spacecraft have flown within the bounds of Earth’s orbit.


“We are now free to set sail as explorers to Earth’s eighth continent, the moon, seeking new knowledge and resources to expand Earth’s economic sphere for the benefit of all humanity,” said Bob Richards, co-founder and chief executive of Moon Express.


The Federal Aviation Administration announced its approval Wednesday, following consultations with the White House, State Department and the US space agency NASA.


Moon Express, based in Cape Canaveral, Florida, was founded in 2010.

It has yet to finish its moon lander, which will be carried in late 2017 by a rocket made by Rocket Lab, another startup, which has not yet launched any commercial missions.

“The sky is not the limit for Moon Express — it is the launchpad,” said Moon Express co-founder Naveen Jain, describing the government approval as “another giant leap for humanity.”

The company’s goal is to develop low-cost spacecraft and to explore the resources on the moon, he said.

“In the immediate future we envision bringing precious resources, metals and moon rocks back to Earth,” said Jain.

NCC Tasks Service Providers On Consumer Education Read

Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has carried its enlightenment campaign to Jos, Plateau State capital, as it organised its 21st edition of Consumer Town Hall Meeting (CTM) held at the Ayo Kehinde Multi–purpose Hall at Bukuru, calling on the telecom service providers to shun ambiguity in their information to consumers.


Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abayomi Olawoyin, of the Initiative for the Support of Consumer Rights of the NCC, who made the call, added that the service providers should stop engaging in the use of convoluted language but should embark on the use of plain language that the consumers can easily understand.


According to Olawoyin, “We want clear information that people will understand. We don’t want ambiguity. Plain language is the word which consumers can understand without any stress.”
He lamented that most certificates of the university graduates nowadays are not marketable which, he said, makes the training in entrepreneurship skill very expedient.


The Deputy Director of NCC, Dr. Atoyebi Joseph, said that the essence of their coming to Jos was to enlighten the telecom subscribers on their rights and responsibilities and to empower them with the right information and education.


Joseph added that they wanted the consumers not only to know their rights but to also appreciate their own responsibilities to the industry.


“NCC has been holding consultation meetings with stakeholders on all burning and contemporary issues with a view to addressing them.


“Some of the policies rolled out by the commission, actually came from interactive fora like this, because we take everything here the proceedings back home as a feedback and review it and escalate to management through which policies now come out to address issues. So, it is like an input into the efforts the commission is making to make sure we really feel the pulse of the consumers and through after which we now come out with policies and initiatives that will address the concerns.”
On the issues of unsolicited text messages that have been occurring every time, Joseph said that NCC was not soft on the issues.


“If I may just tell you straight away, the world has become a global village. Regulating telecom in you domain, fine. But to regulate internet across the globe is a big problematic. Some of these messages come directly from other sources aside from the service providers and which is a fact of today’s technology.


“So, part of what the commission has done is to enforce this ‘Dont Disturb Me’ and I have the option to stop it. If it is partial DND or full DND, I have the option to take. The commission has done that. The commission has also licensed infrastructure companies to boost the level of infrastructure provisions in the telecom industry in Nigeria.


“The commission is not sleeping over any issue. In fact, we are on top of it at any time of the day. If you go to our website, you see so many things, other policies, initiatives that the commission has put out to regulate the industry. Regulation is continuous, it is ongoing, it is never final because issues come every now and then and as they come, they are tackled,” he explained.

your productivity, reduce repetitive strain, and
help keep
you focused. This article is designed by

keyboard shortcuts that will enhance your pc
experience For example, highlighting text with
the keyboard and pressing Ctrl + C is much
faster than taking your hand from the
keyboard, highlighting the
text using the mouse, clicking copy from the
file menu, and then putting your hand back in
place on the keyboard. Below are very
important keyboard shortcuts we recommend
everyone memorize and use.
Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert
Copy the highlighted text or selected item.
Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert
Paste the text or object that's in the clipboard.
Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y
Undo any change. For example, if you cut text,
pressing this will undo it. This can also often
be pressed multiple times to undo multiple
changes. Pressing Ctrl + Y would
redo the undo.
Ctrl + F
Open the Find in any program. This includes
your Internet browser to find text on the
current page.
Alt + Tab or Alt + Esc
Quickly switch between open programs
moving forward.
Adding the Shift key to Alt + Tab or Ctrl + Tab
will move backwards. For example, if you are
pressing Alt + Tab and pass
the program you want to switch to, press Alt +
Shift + Tab to move backwards
to that program.
Windows Key + Tab
To switch through
open programs in a full screenshot of the
Window.
Ctrl + Back space and Ctrl + Left arrow / Right
arrow
Pressing Ctrl + Backspace will delete a full word
at
a time instead of a single character.
Holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the
left or right arrow
will move the cursor one word at a time
instead of one character at a time.
If you wanted to highlight one word at a time
you can hold down Ctrl + Shift and then press
the left or right arrow key to move one word
at a time in that direction while highlighting
each word.
Ctrl + S
While working on a document or other file in
almost every
program pressing Ctrl + S will save that file.
This shortcut key should be
used frequently anytime you're working on
anything important.
Ctrl + Home / End
Move the cursor to the beginning or end of a
document.
Ctrl + P
Print the page being viewed. For example, the
document in Microsoft Word or the
web page in your Internet browser.
Page Up / Space bar and Page Down
Pressing either the page up or page down key
will move that page one page at a time in that
direction.
When browsing the Internet pressing the
space bar will also move the page down one
page at a time.
If you press Shift and the Space bar the page
will go up a page at a time.

UNIPORT JUPEB/Cambridge GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Programmes 2016/2017 Announced

Applications are invited
from qualified
candidates for
admission into the
Joint Universities
Preliminary
Examinations Board
(JUPEB) and Cambridge GCE Advanced Level (A/L)
Programmes of the Ashgrove Academy, University of Port
Harcourt, for the 2016/2017 Academic Session.
The Academy provides both Day and Boarding Facilities,
with limited spaces for boarding students. It prepares
candidates for the following programmes:
(i) JUPEB Programme
The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board
Programme is for one year. Upon completion of this
programme, successful candidates in the Examination
would be admitted into the 200 Level Degree Programme of
the University of Port Harcourt through the Direct Entry of
the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
(ii) Cambridge GCE A/L Programme
The Cambridge GCE Advanced Level Programme is also for
one year and essentially for candidates who are preparing
for overseas studies.
SUBJECTS OFFERED:
The Academy offers the following subjects both for the
JUPEB and Cambridge GCE Advanced Level Programmes:
Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Government,
Economics, Business Studies,
Literature in English, History, Geography and Christian
Religious Studies.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(i) JUPEB Programme
Candidates must have a minimum of five(5) Ordinary Level
(O/L) credit passes, which
must include, English Language and Mathematics in the
relevant subjects in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO or NABTEB.
(II) Cambridge GCE Advanced Level Programme
Candidates must have a minimum of five(5) Ordinary Level
(O/L) credit passes in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/IGCSE;
three(3) of which, from the candidates’ area of study.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
1. Application Forms can be obtained Online. Log on to
www.uniport.edu.ng and click on Application Procedure in
Ashgrove Academy; click on “Register”, sign up and print
payment slip.
2. Proceed to any of the underlisted Banks to make a non-
refundable payment of N20,000.00 (twenty thousand naira),
excluding Bank charges and obtain an eTranzact receipt.

Ecobank Plc;
Access Bank Plc;
First City Monument Bank Plc
3. Login back to your account and verify your payment
using the confirmation order number on the eTranzact
receipt, fill in the necessary information, upload your

JUPEB and GCE A/Level Programmes of the Academy will
be required to undergo a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at a

-An access Pin will be given to you at the bank with which
you are to login on the registration portal.
You will be required to upload your recent Passport
Photographs, Senior School certificate Examination Results
(SSCE), JAMB UTME Original Result Slip that nears your
passport photograph. (If you do not have this document,
click here to get yours), Email and GSM Numbers while
registering online.
-After completing your application, print the Registration slip
NOTE: Candidates will be able to check their results on the
website. Candidates whose SSCE Results, UTME Result
slips, GSM number, Email and passport photographs are not

Facebook Aims For Video-loving Teenagers With New App

Facebook on Friday took direct aim at video-loving adolescents, and Snapchat, with the release of a new iPhone app that allows teens to watch clips about the lives of their classmates.
The app, called Lifestage, was released with no fanfare, and is available for anyone to download on iPhone, although seeing profiles of other users is reserved for those 21 years of age or younger.
The social network allows users to make video clips to describe likes, peeves, dance styles, and other aspects of their character.


Those clips are woven together to serve as public profiles that can be viewed by other Lifestage members, provided they are young enough.


A tool in the app lets users block and report older folks.
“Lifestage makes it easy and fun to share a visual profile of who you are with your school network,” the app’s iTunes store description says.


Once enough students at any given school are on the app, it becomes “unlocked.”
“Once your school is unlocked, you can access the profiles of others in your school community (and all over!) so you can get to know people better in your school and nearby schools,” the description said.


Lifestage users are invited to share video snippets whenever they wish.
The app comes as a challenge to Snapchat, the vanishing message service that became a hit with teenagers and which lets members share pictures and video clips.
Lifestage was seen by some as an effort by Facebook to stay connected to young internet users disinclined to take part in the leading social network.
Facebook did not return an AFP request for comment.
Earlier this month, Instagram put its own spin on a key Snapchat feature by letting users post “Stories” that eventually vanish from the Facebook-owned photo-and video-sharing app.
Instagram Stories encourages people to share ephemeral collages of everyday moments on the app which has built a reputation for allowing people to post highlights from their lives or artistic works.

Chief executive officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher, counselled startup businesses recently at the launch of SME Arena, an innovative and bespoke e-commerce and social networking platform that enables small and medium-sized enterprises to converge, network, collaborate, showcase their products and interact with customers and business partners on the digital space, thus enhancing efficiency, productivity and profit optimisation.


The dedicated e-commerce and social networking portal, is developed and managed for Etisalat Nigeria by YuuZoo Corporation of Singapore.


Willsher stated that businesses in the country should be more customer-oriented and more innovative in order to stimulate satisfaction and build loyalty among their B.rand community, and thereby guaranteeing continued survival amidst the current economic challenges.


“In terms of making way through these critical times, there are two critical things all businesses need to focus on to make their way and these are customer service and innovation. We have to listen to our customers, serve our customers and give them outstanding experience.


“We also have to look for ways to make a difference. Things do not just get better by themselves; they get better through changing things. In general, businesses need to be customer-orientated and innovative to be big enough to get through these tough times and lead the economy to the growth everyone wants,” he said.


While clarifying that being innovative did not necessarily imply rollout of new inventions or ideas every time, Willsher enjoined businesses to effectively employ creativity, relevant insights and understanding of the customer to improve on their service delivery.


He further expressed hope in the ability of the SME Arena platform to help SMEs operators grow their businesses and position the sector to drive the overall growth of the economy.
