How Tinubu And Atiku Advise Buhari On How To End Recession In NIgeria

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos state and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that the economic recession in Nigeria, requires sacrifice from all Nigerians to see the nation come of the tough situation.

Tinubu made this known while speaking at the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers’ investiture of its president, Oluwaseyi Emmanuel Abe, on Wednesday night, September 28 in Lagos.

According to him, Nigeria is blessed with both human and natural resources, which it can properly harness to come out of the recession, Vanguard reports.

The APC national leader also spoke on the significance of electricity in driving economic development as he recalled that Lagos state invested in private power project during his time as governor.

Also speaking at the event, former vice president Atiku Abubakar, said the country should rely on taxes and not oil.

Atiku noted that Nigeria’s biggest problem is addiction to oil revenues.

He decried the belief that the country is doomed “unless oil flows and oil money fills the Federation Account for our tiers of government to share.”

According to Atiku, Tinubu was right to demand that Oyegun follow party rules.

He also noted that the APC is having challenges because it failed to follow its own rules.

Tinubu had asked Oyegun to resign for derailing the party’s agenda in the Ondo APC primary election.

Tinubu made the demand on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in a communiqué from his media office.
